Cool, it was a good day today. I finalized my trip details to NY in August to assist Steve at the IKFF cert. That should be fun, it is always great to to see him and work with the guys and gals of the IKFF.

I've been working on some new "feats of strength" as well as that dang pistol. I feel good.

I got a bunch of stuff done on the site. I finally got Ken's bio up (check it out) I hope he likes it. I am having trouble getting the video page up, very frustrating. I am pleased with how it is coming along, more people are signing up every day...thank you!

Training was good:

I'm back from Japan. I can't believe this trip is over. I had been looking forward to it for so long that now I find myself confronted with an entirly new reality. I have been telling people, my family and friends, for a while now that "it is all about to start". Using this preface as a way to shield myself from the pressure of, well, my life.

I have pushed my chips to the middle of the table. I have no net, no umbrella, I have no spotter. I quit my job. Now everything I am as a professional and as a man will be exposed. I will find out (at the same time as the rest of you) if I am for real. If I have what it takes. If I can make it.

I have worked very hard. It is t ... Read More »

I have failed. In the final testing for the RKC2 i failed to hit my pistol and am therefore not currently an RKC2. I was worried about it going in and I was hoping that I would learn some new methods to get me past my sticking point and I did not. But I did learn something about myself. I learned that  I am not strong enough to crush a pistol. (I think that I passed the other tests but will find out later) I need to find more mobility. I need to get stronger, lighter, and more focused. I was not cheated here. This was nobody’s fault but my own. I am now the one who will fix it.

I apologize for letting all of you down. I promise you that I will not quit. This is a new beginning for me. The fire has been put back in my belly.

I have failed but I have not died and I have come back from bigger falls before. I will be back...

I promise,

I’m ready

I’m back in St. Paul. I’m actually in the same room I was in last year. I got in early so I took a nap and got in some cardio to shake off the jetlag. I just ate dinner and am getting ready for the rest of the night.

The meet and greet is in about 30 min. I am going to see some people again and some for the first time. I am excited to be reunited with some of my old friends. Today I will find out whose group I am in. Tomorrow is going to be a big day.

Shoulder feels good. Legs feel good. I don’t think the snatches or pullups will be a problem. The pistol should be fun but I am confident that I can crank out one rep.

Oh, yes I did clean my face up mom,,,don’t worry.

Cheers,

Just got a few pictures from over the weekend. I was up in Sacramento with my friend Ken Black. He has the coolest stuff I have ever seen. When I got to his place I was overwhelmed by the choices. I could not figure out where to start. How does one choose between a giant tire and an Atlas stone? So we got to the flipping and lifting and bending. It was the most fun ever and I want to thank you Ken,,,thank you.

Other than that my training has been going well. I have been so focused on rehab that I had forgotten how much fun pure hard style training really is. I have been killing it lately and I am looking ... Read More »
