Mark Reifkind Master RKC taught me how to tape over a blister or a rip when I fist met him at the RKC in 2007. It is a tape job that he learned from gymnastics. I had to drain the fluid out of the blister, taking advice from the Funky one, and then I taped it. To wrap it around the finger you tear the thick athletic tape down the center and thread it between your fingers, cross over the blister, ancor at the wrist.  This enabled me to get my work in today

strict shoulder press 32kg 5x5x5

Thank goodness for all the movement stuff I learned from Ken and Steve.

I started today with:

100 40kg high pull/swings

200 snatches 32kg

started on my getups (32kg) and my right lat really locked up on me so I went through Steve's movement series and then some z health (10 min warm up). It opened up a little so I tried getups again but had to settle for alternating turtle press 3 sets 20 reps 28kg. I finished up with some lunge walking, light windmill (24kg)  and light stretching. Oh, and Advil.

Cool, it was a good day today. I finalized my trip details to NY in August to assist Steve at the IKFF cert. That should be fun, it is always great to to see him and work with the guys and gals of the IKFF.

I've been working on some new "feats of strength" as well as that dang pistol. I feel good.

I got a bunch of stuff done on the site. I finally got Ken's bio up (check it out) I hope he likes it. I am having trouble getting the video page up, very frustrating. I am pleased with how it is coming along, more people are signing up every day...thank you!

Training was good:

6 1min (16 per min) sets of snatches 32kg

6 30sec(1 ... Read More »

I'm back from Japan. I can't believe this trip is over. I had been looking forward to it for so long that now I find myself confronted with an entirly new reality. I have been telling people, my family and friends, for a while now that "it is all about to start". Using this preface as a way to shield myself from the pressure of, well, my life.

I have pushed my chips to the middle of the table. I have no net, no umbrella, I have no spotter. I quit my job. Now everything I am as a professional and as a man will be exposed. I will find out (at the same time as the rest of you) if I am for real. If I have what it takes. If I can make it.

I have worked very hard. It is t ... Read More »
