Sometimes the stress gets to me and I get a little lost in my head.  The whispers of doubt turn into fear and then to panic. People who know me personally have seen this. You may know me when I am strong but sometimes I feel as weak anyone could feel. When I feel helpless or desperate, when I need a hand but am to ashamed to ask for it, I try (after all of the unproductive hair-ripping alternatives have been exhausted) to focus on the things I can actually work on and get to it. I think of words like “tough” or “strong” and I tell myself that I can’t quit and that I am being tested as a man, as a champion for my family. I may lose but I ... Read More »

Hi everyone,

I have been spending some time loading up the site with new content. The main page for the blogs has turned into the blogs/podcasts page. I have added a few podcasts to the page. They are loaded with cool info about training. I have also added an OKC video page. The drop down menu will list many names of top kettlebell lifters. I have compiled a fair amount of the net-published footage. I hope you like it. Last, but not least, I have opened a profile section to the site. Now you can network with tons of other members of the kettlebell community. You can get to the page through the "profile" tab on the menu bar. I hope you all like the new stuff.

I have been spending a lot of time working on the basics lately. I know it’s boring to read but I am really enjoying getting better on the foundation level. I can feel myself getting stronger and leaner and there is something calming in the simplicity of it. My swings are better and my get-ups are getting very tight. I started playing around with the side press again today too.

Mark Reifkind Master RKC taught me how to tape over a blister or a rip when I fist met him at the RKC in 2007. It is a tape job that he learned from gymnastics. I had to drain the fluid out of the blister, taking advice from the Funky one, and then I taped it. To wrap it around the finger you tear the thick athletic tape down the center and thread it between your fingers, cross over the blister, ancor at the wrist.  This enabled me to get my work in today

100 swings 48kg

strict shoulder press 32kg 5x5x5
