I Guess I won't be needing these giant chopsticks for a few days
Ok, so I commited to going 30 days without sugar. Apparently the rules are no processed sugar meaning I can eatfruit and stuff where sugar is naturally from. I don't know what I was thinking but I think this will be a "fun" experiment and I think it will help my training. Anybody wanna play???? Liz??? Will??? Nazo???? Mom??? I'm calling you guys out! Let's do this!!!

MIKE, NAZO, and JOHN WILD,,,err,,,me
Over the weekend Nazo and I went to assist Mike Mahler in his last general population Kettlebell workshop in NYC. It was a great workshop and Nazo and I had a great opportunity to get to know Mike and learn from him. We both learned a lot. I don't know if anyone has noticed the changes in the website but they were inspired by Mike and his advice. I hope that you all find it to be a valuable resource. Thank you very much Mike. You have helped me much more than you know.

Congratulations to all the new IKFF CKT’s for South Africa!
We all had a lot of fun today and everyone achieved his or her goals of becoming a CKT. Today we went over the rest of the standard lifts and then we got the chance to play around with some feats of strength. This is such a great group and I have had a wonderful time here.
So far this trip has been all Kettlebell. We were invited to teach a kettlebell class at 5:30am tomorrow and we have accepted! It will be an early day, which ...

GOOD MORNING!
It was a looooong flight but now I am here at the Holiday Inn in Jo-Burgh that I must say is the nicest Holiday Inn I have ever seen. It is much more like a Westin than a Holiday Inn. Steve, Dawn, and I went out to dinner last night at Nelson Mandela Square, it was super cool. Of coarse I forgot my camera so you get a picture of the Coffee station in my room instead. Sorry.
Today is the first day of the IKFF cert and I am looking forward to it. ...

Well, tomorrow I'll be off to join Steve Cotter in South Africa. I will be assisting him with the IKFF-CKT workshop. This has been a year of crazy travel. First there was Tokyo, now South Africa, with several domestic cities in between. I am actually writing this from my mothers house in PA. I think that this trip will be the last major trip this year. I have no idea what next year will bring but I am sure to meet more of you abroad. I will try my best to update the blog while I am on the trip. I have no idea if there is WiFi in Botswana! So if you don't hear from me over the next few days, and I don't get eaten by anything, I'll write a nice long blog with tons of photos when I get back.
Cheers,

Group Shot
Thank you. It was a great workshop. We had a good mix of beginners and experienced lifters at the level 1 workshop. Everybody was locked in. All who attended worked very hard and made some very good progress. I am proud of all of you and look forward to seeing you again on December 13 at the next level!
It is always fun to watch people learn new things and reach the goals that they set for themselves.

I’m Alive! I shaved over 6 hours from the last trip and was with a friend Larry (he is Client #9 on the Profile site) who was strong and tireless. There are pros and cons to attempting a feat of great endurance with a marathon runner. The best thing is you know he will never get tired. The worst thing is knowing how much you are slowing him down. Larry was the best partner I could have had on this trip. He was st ...

So The crazy thing about this is I did it last year. It almost killed me and when it was happening I swore I would never do it again. Ever. However as soon as it was over, I knew I would be back. I am going back to get another piece. I want another shot to really do it, to do it clean. I need this. Sometimes I just have something to prove to myself. I need to stand on the top of this legend. So I am off. Wish me luck.
cheers,
