In 2010 John went to study in Kettlebell lifting in St. Petersburg Russia. He returned in February 2011 to study with Jason Dolby and their coach Sergey Rudnev but this time it was not in St. Petersburg but in Siberia where John and Jason also competed in a local Russian tournament (John took Gold). In May of 2011 John, Jason, and Nazo returned to St. Petersburg where they studied again with the IKSFA and got to compete in the St. Petersburg Kettlebell Lifting Championships (John took Silver).
In 2010 John, Jason, and Nazo hosted the first OKC 1 Hour Long Cycle charity event (and second OKC charity event of 2010) in Los Angeles for the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. 3 world records were set that day.
John Wild Buckley CSCS is the founder of the Orange Kettlebell Club. He is a member of the inaugural class of the International Kettlebell Sport and Fitness Academy and has studied in St. Petersburg Russia under the tutelage of Honored Masters of Sport (World Class) Sergey Rachinskiy, Sergey Mishin, and Sergey Rudnev (Trainer of the Russian national team). He is also certified by the IKFF where he, along with Jason Dolby, was one of the first two International Instructors until he resigned in April 2010. He is certified under the American Kettlebell Club and is a former Master Trainer for the World Kettlebell Club. He completed his RKC in 2007 and is also a Kettlebell Concepts and Kettlebell Athletics instructor. John has taught Kettlebell all across America as well as Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has competed at the professional level in Kettlebell sport (But is truly, truly an amateur).
John Wild was born in Astoria Queens NY on October 22, 1977. He grew up on Long Island and graduated from Plattsburgh State University in 2000 with a degree in English Literature. He has been a personal trainer since 2003 and has been working with Kettlebells since 2004. He lives in Oakland California.
